Mood Board- ‘Tribal Man’

The first thought that comes to my mind when I hear the track’s title ‘Tribal Man’ is; native people, doing their ritual dances in a congregation harmonously. I love group dancing because it promotes team work! I’m going to need good team work in order to create a sucessful video.



The fisrt 6 seconds of ‘Tribal Man’ sirens are herd. Immediately this tracks grasps your attention because it is alarming! It some whats creates an adrenaline rush, as I can imagine bright lights and police rushing by. They make everyone feel uneasy.



I chose this image for my mood board because I find it very interesting. The men are dancing (skanking- doing the funky dance move) in synch but their trousers have different patterns. It is interesting to me as the bright colours and patterns of the men’s trousers symbolise culture (tribal/funky), vibes and individuality yet unison.



I chose this graphic design particularly because it’s self explanatory. It’s telling the public (funky lovers) that a new funky beat is in town! The bright colours of the text represent the funky theme! The font is All CAPS...it stands out and sends the message directly.



This photograph is by far my favourite choice because it’s linked directly to the title of the track ‘Tribal Man’. It displays diversity of culture and race. It shows that anybody can listen to ‘Tribal Man’. Like the first picture it promotes team work, showing the cultures dancing and celebrating in unison.



As simple and plain as this pendant might seem, it represents what the ‘Tribal Man’ dance is all about. Firstly the circular shape of the pendant signifies the circle in which Funky dancers (skankers) dance in. The different dance moves imprinted onto it shows that the dance can be versatile and creative. Hence what I intend to do with my video; make it versatile and creative, at the same time promoting unison and most importantly ‘Team Work’.
